we were so thrilled to be approached about creating the main titles for one of HBO’s signature series, "Ballers”. Now in it’s 5th season, the show still features our original cut from season 1.
at over a full minute trt, we were given a lot of runway on this piece. The show creators were strongly against any concept that appeared derivative of “Entourage”, despite the superficial similarities between two shows. Rather than focus on glitz & glam, the hope was to connect the city of Miami with the athlete’s love of the game since childhood, and highlight the incredible amount of work they put in to get where they are. HBO secured the rights to the Lil’ Wayne track, and the rest was up to us. We started by incorporating drone shots of Miami…

and, naturally, some videos from Dwayne Johnson’s Instagram
and of course, Steve Levinson’s pugs on a treadmill. Why not.
