we were stoked at the opportunity to work with long time friend, Alexis Boling (www.harmonium.tv) on this promo for Hulu’s “The Act”. Alexis shot the plates against green screen, then passed along to SNC for art direction, compositing, motion design, and sound design.
in the modern world of film and television, with 4k resolution and giant screens everywhere, bigger is often better when it comes to graphics and sound. this project, meant for an instagram marketing campaign, was our first experience creating media directly for social. knowing that the viewer would almost definitely be watching on a smartphone was an interesting wrinkle to keep in mind.

the second deliverable of the campaign was meant to be a straight on shot of the main character, gypsy, from her laptop camera.
Hulu, as clients are often wont to do, pulled a last minute audible and asked us to rework the piece as a back and forth chat playing on a computer screen. one late night later and this was the result. I think they made the right call.
